Frederick Wilhelm Liekefett was born on May 25, 1888, in Boonah, Queensland.
He enlisted at Brisbane on 1 May 1916. He was described as having good physical development, 28 years old, single, a carpenter, 5 feet 9 inches tall, blue eyes, light brown hair and of the Church of England faith.
He died at the Rosemount Military Hospital, Brisbane on 11 June 1916 with measles, secondary Pneumonia and finally heart failure. He is buried in the Nambour Cemetery, Queensland.

PARENTS - Heinrich Christian Wilhelm Liekefett was born on February 6, 1855, in Germany, the child of Christian and Sophia. He married Maria Wilhelmine Elisabeth Felschow on May 29, 1884, in Waterford, Queensland. They had 12 children in 23 years. He died on November 10, 1932, in Nambour, Queensland, at the age of 77, and was buried there.

Wilhelm Hermann Liekefett was born on February 14, 1885, in Kenilworth, Queensland, his father, Heinrich, was 30 and his mother, Maria, was 22. He married Emma Christine Finger on June 6, 1917, in Queensland. They had one child. He died on May 25, 1974, at the age of 89.

Anna Elizabeth Liekefett was born on June 27, 1886, in Queensland. She died on January 2, 1915, at the age of 28.

Frederick Wilhelm Liekefett was born on May 25, 1888, in Boonah, Queensland. He died on June 11, 1916, in Queensland, at the age of 28.

Herman Heinrich Liekefett was born on August 22, 1890, in Boonah, Queensland. He died on June 22, 1989, in Queensland, at the age of 98.

Heinrich Ferdinand Liekefett was born on June 7, 1892, in Kenilworth, Queensland. He married Gladys Mary Jordan on May 21, 1918, in Brisbane, Queensland. They had two children. He died on December 9, 1979, in Nambour, Queensland, at the age of 87.

Bertha Wilhelimine Liekefett was born on September 16, 1894, in Kenilworth, Queensland. She married Francis Philip Rusconi on June 15, 1905, in Bega, New South Wales. They had one child. She died on June 19, 1990, in Gundagai, New South Wales, at the age of 95, and was buried there.

Ludwig Samuel Liekefett was born on May 4, 1897, in Kenilworth, Queensland. He married Margaret Coates on November 7, 1931, in Queensland. He died on April 6, 1962, in Queensland, at the age of 64, and was buried in Brisbane, Queensland.

Robert Walker Liekefett was born on March 18, 1900, in Obi Obi, Queensland. He married Violet Agnes Lihou on July 10, 1923, in Brisbane, Queensland. They had three children. He died on November 13, 1989, in Brisbane, Queensland, at the age of 89, and was buried in Albany Creek, Queensland.

Augustus Bernhardt Liekefett was born on October 13, 1902, in Nambour, Queensland. He married Amy May Goeths on October 18, 1928, in Queensland. They have one child.

Albert Charles Liekefett was born on May 8, 1905, in Kenilworth, Queensland, Mother, Maria, was 42. He died in September 1988 in Brisbane, Queensland, at the age of 83, and was buried there.

Eric James Liekefett was born on August 17, 1907, in Kenilworth, Queensland. He married Elizabeth Mary Beausang in 1936 in Queensland. He died on June 12, 1988, in Queensland, at the age of 80, and was buried in Mooloolah, Queensland.

Minnie Christina Liekefett was born on June 18, 1908, in Kenilworth, Queensland, her father, Heinrich, was 53 and her mother, Maria, 45. She had three sons and three daughters with Bernard James Shepherd. She died on November 4, 2000, in her hometown, at the age of 92.

Frederick Liekefett’s parents were Henry Christian Wilhelm Liekefett and Wilhemine Maria Elizabeth Felschow of Kidamann Creek, Kenilworth, Queensland.
Fred’s occupation was carpenter. He enlisted in May 1916, fit and well, with high hopes of serving his country at war but as a young country lad used to fresh air and home grown food, he fell victim to the infectious diseases of close harmony living. He died at the age of 28 from heart failure brought on by pneumonia following measles. This was Fred’s war.
Frederick William Liekefett has been acknowledged by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission with an official military headstone.
