George's father is James Thomas JARRETT and mother Laura Katherine LeCREN. They had at least 6 children - Charles, Mary, Inez (who married Joseph Douglas YOUNGMAN 370/1745), Laura, Walter (Depot Q3210) and George. After his father died in Nov 1912 his mother married Thomas John ALLEN in 1913 and lived at Ninderry View Farm, Maroochy River.

Embarked as a member of the 5 Infantry Battalion - 24 and 25 Reinforcements (February-August 1917)
Returned to Australia 20 February 1919
Discharged 20 March 1919
A letter in his NAA file shows that he was living in Mitchell, Qld in 1921.

George married Lucy Bridget O'Rourke on 19 November 1924.
Tragically their young son Vincent Timothy (b 12 August 1928) died on the 2nd October 1929. Another son Bernard James was born in 1936.

George Jarrett was my father and we lived in Nambour in 1925 and moved to Herston in 1940, then moved to Bulimba in 1941.
His wife was Lucy Bridget Jarrett née O'Rourke.
They had 12 children...7 boys and 5 girls (Mary, Joan, Ray, Leonard, Vincent, Leo, Walter, Monica (myself) , Bernard, Olive, Patricia, Kevin).

George was my great uncle. His sister Inez married my grandfather Joseph Douglas Youngman also of Maroochy River.
