According to Qld BDMs his birth was 30 October 1891, although Fred states his birth date in 1890.
According to Ancestry.com Fred married Rosie Davies in about 1916 and had one child.
Enlisted 6/7/1915 at the age of 23years. Embarked from Australia 5/10/1915. Transferred to 9th battalion 28/2/1916. Embarked from Alexandria 16/3/1916 Disembarked at Marseilles 2/4/1916 Hospitalised with measles in France 8/9/1916. Transferred to England 7/10/1916. Marched out to Wareham[temp unfit]30/10/1916 Appointed Lance Corporal 23/4/1917. Marched in Fovant from Hurdcott 11/8/1917 Reverts to ranks upon admission to hospital 9/9/1917. Admitted to hospital with epilepsy,Weymouth 12/10/1917. Returned to Australia "Malta" for discharge 31/7/1918 Discharged,owing to epilepsy,originating from being gassed and cause of stress and active service 2/11/1918.
Post-WW1 service is stated on his NAA WW1 dossier. It finishes at 1978, the year of Fred's death.
In his NAA dossier, Letter from his wife intimates Fred was deceased by 1965 (Repatriation letter). We dont believe this letter refers to Fred.
