Fred was born at Hillgrove in NSW, not far from Armidale,where his father was workng. After his two older brothers Walter and Alfred had been killed in France, and soon after his 18th birthday, he enlisted and was undergoing recruit training and the war ended. He married and had 10 children 2 boys and 8 girls, and when World War 2 started he enlisted and served for the duration of that war.

Commemorating 100 years. Anzac Day.

First time I have seen this photo. Strong family resemblances in myself and my brother Stephen. 

I miss you Grand Dad. You were the best Grandfather anyone could wish for.
